Why use Drivers
Purpose I: Manage Drivers
SCALAR allows organizations to easily manage and view their drivers. After the organization account owner creates a driver, an invite is sent to the driver to enroll in the SCALAR platform. You can also resend an invite if the driver has missed an earlier invite. The administrator can also de-activate a driver from the SCALAR platform.
Note
- The invitation link is valid only for 72 hours.
- If the driver is made inactive, the driver’s access to the Cargo application is revoked.
- The deleted drivers will be visible in SCALAR platform as inactive and can be reactivated from SCALAR platform or using the Tacho card assigned to the driver by linking an asset.
- The deletion/removal process of a driver is irreversible if the driver is deleted via GDPR policy of the organisation.
Purpose II: Manage Cargo app access
SCALAR allows the account administrator of an organization to provide Cargo application access to the drivers. The Cargo application access requires an email ID of the driver. The status of the driver’s access to Cargo application is viewed in the portal.
Note
The driver’s access to the Cargo application is managed through SCALAR mobile app access settings in driver module.
Purpose III: Manage Tacho card details
SCALAR allows the administrator of an organization to manage the Tacho card details of the driver. The driver assignment of the asset is identified based on the Tacho card details provided in the platform.
Purpose IV: Manage Access
After creating a driver, you can assign users and driver groups to a specific driver to configure who will be able to follow it. The active drivers can also be assigned to a driver group from SCALAR.
Note
- By default, access is provided to all users and integrators.
- The driver is visible to everyone in the organization when all the respective driver groups are unassigned.
Use Cases
Use case I: Manage drivers
- New drivers are invited through an invitation link, using which drivers can set up a password.
- After being added to the SCALAR platform, the driver can start assigning an asset belonging to the organization via a Tacho card or the Cargo application.
- Modify an existing driver’s details and display the updated driver information in the SCALAR platform.
- Drivers can be made inactive from the SCALAR platform and can be deleted permanently via GDPR policy of the organisation
Use case II: Assign driver groups
- An organization can assign a driver to the specific driver groups.
- Once the driver is enrolled and added to the SCALAR platform, they can be assigned or unassigned from the driver groups.
Use case III: View driver details
- The driver management module enables to get a list of all the drivers.
- It also enables to get all the details for a particular driver.
