What is Tacho Management

Use the Tacho Management module to manage all the archiving information of the drivers and vehicles in your organization. In the Tacho Management module, you can set and track your Remote Data Download (RDD) or check the expiry dates for your assets and drivers. You can also store archive files coming from RDD or manual download and monitor their status. In case of an issue, the Tacho Management provides you explicit alerts.
There are two types of Alerts in the Tacho Management module such as, Warning when an item is near the deadline and Critical when an item has an overdue date or in case of integrity error in a file.

Why use Tacho Management

Purpose I: Manage your Remote Data Download

SCALAR allows you to set the RDD for your assets and drivers by selecting the download interval and then scheduling regular related sessions. It displays a clear state for these sessions on all items, which helps in efficient monitoring.

📘

Note:

The RDD requires a compatible tachograph to set dedicated parameters on your assets in the Assets module.

Purpose II: Verify your archiving delay

SCALAR enables you to track the archiving obligations of all the items by allowing you to set a delay between each archiving. It also alerts when an item is close to or has exceeded the set archiving deadline.

📘

Note:

The latest status only is provided for an item, while the history can be verified in the item details window.

Purpose III: Manage your archives

SCALAR enables you to import the archive files manually or by the RDD process, and store them securely. It also allows you to check their integrity state and to extract them through UI or by using the dedicated APIs.

📘

Note:

In the scope of the Tacho Management module, archive means the file resulting as the readout of a tachograph or a driver tachograph card memory.

Purpose IV: Track the expiry date

SCALAR allows you to monitor the renewal date of your driver cards and company cards by displaying the information on your item details window. It also allows you to configure related alerts and warnings.

📘

Note:

Expiry date on the asset is based on the date of the company card that is associated with this asset.
